A full rebrand for this small but stylish Japanese restaurant in the heart of east London.
Our challenge was to create a brand concept which balanced sleek and minimal modern Japanese design with the artistic freedom and cool of London’s east end.
We were given the opportunity to reposition the brand, reinvent the name and design a new identity with all collateral.
Stark black backgrounds were punctuated with flashes of burnt orange, illustrated scenes of London sat next to a clean modern sans serif typeface and the name itself embodied the brand characteristics perfectly. ‘Miyako’ is a name borrowed from an island famed for it’s beautiful beaches located 300 kilometers south of Okinawa Main Island but it’s direct tranlstion into English is “City”.
